Time has been moving so fast since we’ve been here on the island. Feels like we arrived here just yesterday, and despite that, so much is behind us already! In the past few weeks:

    • We celebrated 10 years of being together
    • We started working on the biggest project of our lives: our house (if you haven’t read about this crazy update check out my last post!)
    • We’ve learned a HELL of a LOT of things about DIY renovation through this project. And it’s just the start.
    • We made new friends and connections on the island, with both humans and animals.

And we still managed to make progress on our creative projects (of clients and personal) and start some new spontaneous experiments in the meantime. It feels good to reflect on all that and we feel pretty proud of what we achieved already. But we owe that all to the place itself. I believe very strongly that when you are in the right environment, you can thrive, be productive, fulfilled and inspired no matter what.

What we love about being here is that even though we’re running all over the place more than we’d want to, we still feel like we can apply our idea of slow living and what we came here for. A hectic day of both renovating & running our creative studio can be balanced with a break to watch the sunset. A walk in the mountains. A dip in the ocean. We can always intentionally set time to cultivate slowness. To create moments where we can just switch off and be in full delight, raising our awareness about this beautiful place we’re in.

We’ve always been particularly inspired by people who master the art of filling their lives with beauty and intention. We find so much of it here, and it has given us a huge kick to live our own lives this way. This of course blends itself into our aesthetic, into everything we can create and can imagine creating. And we love to document it so that we can always have an overview!

Speaking of documenting – we’ve recently been working on finally publishing our photography & videography portfolio. As we were doing this, we realized it’s been quite a while that we haven’t worked on a short video, so a few days after that, on a spontaneous rush of inspiration, we woke up really early (before our emails start coming in) and went to the beach. We documented our morning dip and breakfast and turned it into this video. Listening to our gut, we just went for the whole experiment while we felt inspired, and even composed the background music. It was a lot of fun and we’re excited to share this little making with you guys.

This is our little ode to waking up early and enjoying life.

Turn your volume up and press play! We’d love to hear what you think.

She likes to experiment with illustration, hand lettering, and custom-made ideas that don’t always involve a computer and is striving to create unique imagery.
