The winter season is amazing for fun outdoor walks and photo shoots. Especially when experimenting with portraits. The light reflected in the snow makes everything appear bright, fresh. The cold however, isn’t that much of a benefit, but it tends to be quickly forgotten when you carry around some tea.
This sunday we decided to take advantage of the snowy environment and head out for a walk with our camera. We also loaded a 1L thermos with some of Pukka’s cleanse tea (believe me, it’s needed after the new year’s festivities!!) and some of my favourite handcrafted ceramic mugs from Crete. I just love including them in photography, especially in food shots. Their random patterns and imperfections have an amazing charm.
A few days ago, I posted another wintery photo with the mention “There’s something eerie in things that are completely frozen”. When this winter wonderland is created, it’s important to take a moment and head out to immerse yourself in it. The frost of the winter has a mystifying beauty and can have such a calming effect on the mind. It lets you disconnect for a moment and just follow your instincts in a white silent bubble!
