It’s an exciting time. With our lives currently being in transition, we are re-thinking a lot of everything and asking ourselves a TON of questions. The conversations that we have are about decisions we want to make for the future and while they are not free of headaches, they are pretty awakening. And day by day, it feels like we are getting there. How? By targeting simplicity.

Our lives can often feel overwhelming. But by asking ourselves the right questions and removing the clutter in our minds, we can finally focus on what matters the most.

So… What is it that matters to you the most? What is it that you want to achieve right now? Make it a priority and then remove or minimize the rest, at least for the moment.

We defined what these things are for us:

    1) Daily creativity 2) Travelling and the dream of living remotely 3) Cultivating meaningful relationships with like-minded people.

By putting these things in priority, we of course accepted the fact that we had to un-prioritize the rest. And as soon as we’re able to do that, magic happens: we get there.

We made creativity a priority by defining what it is for us and turning it into our lifestyle.

We made travel a priority and a part of our lives by learning to give up certain things and by getting organized.

We made relationships a priority because we consider them a huge part of our personal growth and so we invest our time in them.

In return, here are the ideas we un-prioritized or even gave up: Having a job with yearly promotions and perks. Making more money. Owning a bigger condo. Having a fancy office. Owning lots of other things we don’t really need but that could make life easier. Starting a family. Or owning a pet.

We can’t have it all. We are somehow led to think that this is a “sad” fact but it’s actually a good thing. A really good thing. Not being able to have it all at once allows you to reflect and to figure out what you want to keep and what you can toss. It’s an opportunity to live simply and blissfully.

Simplifying, and simplifying again is one of the best things we’ve done for ourselves.

With today’s post, I want to encourage you to do the same, so you too can get a closer grip to what truly matters in your life. So, what are YOU willing to give up to get there? Think about it 🙂
