    And we are friday again!

This last week was much less packed than the one before it, which allowed us to spend enough time on each of the projects we’re currently working on and have some “breathable” space to think, brainstorm or just unwind a little. I find that it is so, so important to find this balance when you’re self-employed. Sure, being busy is a good thing, it is associated with doing well as a business, but being too busy does have some side effects!

I’m personally not a fan of the “glorification of busy“. I don’t envy people who are constantly busy 24/7 because we’ve been through that more than a few times and although those moments can be filled with productivity (or rather the feeling of “being productive”), excitement, they’re also very harsh. And oh my, they can also filled with some negative vibes. I’m a little bit of a control freak, so having to juggle around with too many things at once makes me feel a little crazy. At those moments, I’m better left off alone, as I can really spread those stressful energies towards anyone around me. Poor David.

For many reasons, including our wellbeing, we find that we work best when we can wrap up a workday in under 6 hours. This is not a lot, but if those 6 hours are productive enough, then the rest of the day can be used for other activities that complement the “work brain” and that can actually fuel it, training us to be able to do more in less time. Who needs 12 hour workdays when you can manage to do just as much in half the time? I haven’t read Tim Ferris’s like-minded book, but the synopsis already inspired me a lot towards that route. Of course, it’s not always easy for us to stick to that goal, but we’re trying to get there.

    De-Masseur

This week, we worked on a few exciting projects, funnily enough most of them were somehow linked to “wellbeing”! We finally launched one of them on facebook & online, and it’s called “De Masseur”, a business about customized massage. The guy behind this is truly fearless and a very cool client to work with. He quit his long term job in order to pursue his passion of massage, but since the beginning, no matter how confused he might have been, he knew that wanted to do it his way and do it differently. And the great thing is that he just trusted us to help him visualize his idea, build a brand around it and give him starter tips for a good growth. The brand identity that we started creating aims to be minimal, breathable and elegant. We will be combining the graphics with photography that is dreamy and naturally mystic, such as foggy landscapes, to communicate well-being in an alternative way. I don’t think we would have ever agreed to go with anything generic, especially for a person who wants to stand out. There are not going to be any lotus logos or any pictures of actual massages in this project and we know why 🙂

Other than that, the week was full of little happy, healthy moments. I met the fantastic healthfood blogger The Green Creator, which I’m hoping we’ll be working with at some point! We also visited a local vegetable farm which happens to be just about 5 minutes away from our place. It’s actually a community project financed by the town we live in, and gets unemployed people involved, which is really great. In their beautiful greenhouse, they grow organic vegetables all year long, sell them at our local farmer’s market but also on location. I would love to write a whole blogpost dedicated to that. We made a fantastic tomato salad with their last harvested tomatoes of the year. Sadly I don’t have a photo of it!

I also came across this post which made me think about establishing a proper morning routine in our days. I love reading these kinds of articles, as they help me question myself and see how we can continuously improve our lives with little steps at a time.

This weekend’s plans include going to the Brave Youth brunch, which will be an interesting event featuring lots of people like us, who started their own businesses or have a dream of starting one. It will be cool to exchange and meet new faces! I’m curious about how it’s going to be. We’ll be giving a short speech, which makes me a little nervous. And we’re preparing lots of printed goodies which we’ll give away at the brunch. We’ll probably be sharing more around all that in our instagram & snapchat, so add us 🙂

    Have a lovely weekend everyone!
